DAY 1 - Flight to Guayaquil


From Germany, with a stopover in the city of Quito, which is at an altitude of about 2600 m above sea level. After a short rest and an eventual first "typical breakfast", we continue our flight to our final destination of Guayaquil - The Pearl of the Pacific - where we will be picked up by our transfer that will take us to our hotel.

After checking in and a short rest, we walk together to the Malecon 2000 with its view and climb 444 steps to the lighthouse.

In the evening we will enjoy the city from the top of South America's largest Ferris wheel, La Perla. Then we end the first night with a cozy dinner in Puerto Santa Ana.

DAY 2 - Drive to Salinas


Drive to Salinas - a tourist center on the Santa Elena Peninsula - where we will visit the westernmost latitude of the continent, have the opportunity to see sea lions and go swimming in the Pacific for the first time. Here you can also pursue various water activities. Most importantly, we will taste fresh seafood etc for the first time in this country. (F)

DAY 3 - City Tour of Guayaquil


In the morning we visit the city center, Avenida 9 de Octubre, the town hall, the cathedral and the park of the iguanas.

In the early afternoon we will visit the Historical Park where old colonial Guayaquil was recreated and see Samborodon, a new satellite town just outside Guayaquil, where we will have dinner. (F)

DAY 4 - Drive to Quito


After breakfast we start our journey through the Andes to the national capital Quito at around 7.30 am. On the approximately 7-hour drive we pass banana and cocoa plantations, sugar cane and pineapple fields; there is also the possibility to buy fruit.

Around 5pm we will check in at the hotel and then have an evening walk through the old town and have dinner there. (F)

DAY 5 - City tour of Quito


After breakfast - drive to the Teleférico - the cable car that takes us to 4,800 m altitude. Once at the top we have around 2 hours to enjoy the view, ride llamas or horses or go a little higher if we want.

Finally, when we are "down" again at about 2,800 m, we drive to the equator - the center of the earth - there we first visit the Monument Ecuador 1 (Culture and History) and then 2 (The Intiñan Museum) - there we can do different physical experiments.

From there we drive around 4:30 p.m. to the angel statue on the local mountain.

Our day will end here around 7pm. (F)

DAY 6 - The old town of Quito


breakfast in the morning.

Then a tour of the old town with the Plaza del Teatro, the Plaza San Francisco and a guided tour of the Presidential Palace.

After lunch we leave Quito towards Latacunga - a small town in the Andes on the road to the volcanoes - our road is lined with mountains and snow-capped volcanoes - always a fascination.

At 5:00 p.m. we will check in at the hotel - after that you have free time. (F)

DAY 7 - Excursion to Cotopaxi Volcano


7 o'clock breakfast

Today we embark on a guided hike/excursion into Cotopaxi National Park, including a snow hike and lunch. This excursion has a planned duration of 7 hours; we will be picked up and brought from the hotel.

The air gets thin here - it goes up to over 5,000 m!!!! Warm clothes and sugary drinks are important!!!!

Later we drive to Baños. Here we can/will get back to the right "operating temperature" for our next highlights in the hot springs, which are up to 65 degrees warm. (B/L)

DAY 8 - Expedition in Baños


This day will be sporty or active. Depending on your mood, we will ride a bike, quad or buggy through a small part of the Ecuadorian Amazon. There we can practice various extreme sports. After about 25 km we park the vehicles and climb the Teufelsbalkon - these stairs and the associated waterfall are among the 10 most spectacular in the world - but be careful, you get wet here.

We then return to the city, visit the market and Pozo Santo Monastery, and then take the chiva to the tree house - here you can swing at all heights and enjoy the views.

In the evening we still enjoy the nocturnal flair of Baños. (B/L)

DAY 9 - Pastaza and Riobamba


7.30 am Breakfast

8:00 am pick up for rafting - 3 hours on the Rio Pastaza towards the Amazon

Here lunch - typical of the country - is included and we are also brought back to the hotel.

From there we start our journey to Riobamba.

With good visibility and the right time, we can see the five volcanoes from 5.45 to 6.15 p.m. - including the highest volcano in South America, the Chimborazo with its 6,380 m.

Later we can visit the old town with its cathedral, town hall, etc. together. (B/L)

DAY 10 - Ingapirca and Cuenca


8.00 am Breakfast in Riobamba.

Afterwards we will travel to the Inca ruins of Ingapirca and visit them.

After a leisurely lunch we continue our journey to Cuenca, the second World Heritage city in the country and check into the hotel. (F)

DAY 11 - City tour of Cuenca


8.00 am Breakfast at the hotel in Cuenca.

Afterwards, city tour through the historic old town of Cuenca, visit of the flower and vegetable market

Visit to the Panama Hat Museum - this is where the real hats are made.

Finally, there is still time to explore the city individually. (F)

DAY 12 - En route to Guayaquil


8:00 a.m. Breakfast.

Return to Guayaquil through the Cajas National Park

Around 7 p.m. arrival at the hotel. (F)

DAY 13 - Free day in Guayaquil


Opportunity to explore, visit and shop the city on your own. (F)

DAY 14 - The Coast and Gulf of Guayaquil


Drive to the seaside resort of Playa and the town of Puerto Morro in the Gulf of Guayaquil, where we will have the opportunity to see the dolphins native to the region. (F)

DAY 15 - Puerto Lopez and Isla de la Plata


Visit to the coastal village of Puerto Lopez, from there take a boat to Isla de la Plata (little Galapagos).

(the small Galapagos) - we take part in a guided tour of the island and have the opportunity to observe the characteristic fauna of the Galapagos.

We then spend some time in the festive beach town of Montañita. (F)

DAY 16 - Gastronomy in Guayaquil


In the morning and early afternoon our tourists have free time, in the afternoon and evening they take part in a gastronomic demonstration of typical Ecuadorian dishes. (F)

DAY 17 - Handicrafts in Guayaquil


On this day we will visit the Guayaquil City Handicrafts Market where we can buy handcrafted products such as Panama hats, paintings, sculptures or small ornaments made by the skilled hands of the Ecuadorian indigenous people. (F)

DAY 18 - Return to Germany


On our last day in Guayaquil, we will have one last lunch at the hotel, then our transfer will take us to the airport.
